POINT OF LAY CHICKENS AND DUCKS

At The Pig Place we breed pedigree rare breed Oxford Sandy & Black and British Lop pigs.

They spend all year outdoors - ours sows have their litters in purpose built farrowing arcs and the young are soon outside rooting around as nature intended.

The pigs are grown naturally and slowly without the use of growth hormones or gm food, thier diet is suplimented with fresh greens from our own vegetable patches.

Traditional rare breed pigs produce pork and bacon that has a good layer of fat (and superb crackling) - it is the fat that adds the flavour and should be left on during the cooking process in order for the full flavour to be released, if desired the fat can be removed prior to eating.

We are always happy to discuss receipes and various cuts of pork to suit your requirements.

Our pork, bacon and sausages are available from our farm shop as well as freshly cooked from our outdoor food van. We have a great reputation for our breakfasts.
